Yosemite National Park, CA
John Muir used to bind himself
to tips of pines,
just to be inside the wild storms,
raging wind and sheets of rain.
There is a part of ourselves
that longs to feel from a place
deeper than skin; cut open
by rips and gashes.
Be aware, when the conditions
are right and the scab, removed,
the wound becomes open to be loved
by a Universe, whose wind of forgiveness
comes from God’s breath.
Whoever tore that piece of skin
and now in the openness
Love rushes in.
